Like I said, its nothing but a palm sander bolted to a paint can (or in my case, an old bondo can). It works way better than the expensive tumbler I have, and cost about 15 bucks to make. My best results come from using a shallow layer of fresh sandblasting sand for a half hour, after which I change the sand and give it another half hour. Here’s what an hour of hillbilly tumbling gets me (these bolts were a rusty, cruddy mess when I started):







I no longer bother with the tumbler.
