Vintage Brakes
We used to call then 'Push And Pray' brakes.....
DO NOT turn the drums ! . even if ripped up . Once you go through it all and replace the linings, loose bushings and so on, adjust each 90 degree linkage so it's *just*approaching 90 degrees as the shoes begin to take up . More than 90 degrees and the brakes will e very grabby and uneven, less than 90 degrees and they'll be very poor and the pedal will have too much travel . Begin adjusting at each backing plate and slowly and carfully work your way to the brake pedal last .
