New key parts hood doesn't like my hinges

I got my hood today for my 67 from gmc pauls and it looks great, fits great. Stock key parts hood. One thing I don't like about it is rather than run foam across the entire hood between the rear hinge support and the hood skin they just put a blob on every 6 inches or so. The problem with that is when I pull the hood down it puts all the pressure on those spots as the hood flexes and puts outie dents in my hood. I think my hinges are shot and in my opinion it pulls down a little harder than it should, I will probably replace them. Has anyone had this problem and how did you fix it? New hinges? Billet hinges? Lighter hood spring? Run a good seam sealer entire width of hood to absorb pressure evenly? Any help is appreciated
