Cab rust repair. Leave it on the frame?

I'm about to take my first crack at rust repair. With a rusty cab, can I put it up on a wood box to make it easier to work on or should I leave it on the frame to keep it from going out of square?

I've been watching Gibson63 on Youtube and I noticed on his red truck he put the cab on a wood box and on his more recent patina blue truck he left it on the frame.
