Engine Mount Question with Pictures
I can't say I've done a million engine swaps but I have done a few. Of all the swaps I've done on small block Chevys they always had the engine mount with the bolt holding the engine half to the frame half of the mount. Now that I have a bunch of stuff out of the way I can see the mounts on my truck are clearly different. Of course coming out will be pretty easy but if I have to line up the bolt holes on the engine it could take a long time. I circled the center bolt on the style of mount I am used to (it is on my '72 Chevelle).
So my question. Do I just get the weight off the engine with the cherry picker then take the bolts off the engine? I guess I have two questions. Can I use a mount like on my a-bodies when I reinstall the new engine?
