Replacing valve covers, Flame Arrestor & Edlebrock Carbs

The gaskets on the oil caps for my C20 402 are toast. Could be one reason it runs through oil so fast Anyway, I'm not a fan of chrome and "it don't get you home". I have a pair of pre-71 BBC covers I can use. I'm pretty green where carbs & accessories are concerned.

This has an Edlebrock carb. and the manifold may be Edlebrock as well. My question is the original set-up had a flame arrestor, and I'm unaware of one with this Edlebrock. Perhaps they're unnecessary - the caps have a breather of some sort, I don't have a clue. If I don't need a flame arrestor with this, any suggestions how to plug up the hole in the valve cover where an arrestor would be? Edit: The chrome cap on the right is essentially a plug, with a breather or?

Any other considerations, or any reason these can't be used with the Edlebrock? Pics are of the current set up and what I hope are the replacement valve covers.

I developed an assembly guide (kit) for restoring this truck from the ground up, complete with details including full hardware descriptions. Much of the info. applies to all 67-72 GM. My build thread, with some info. about the assembly kit https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...d.php?t=730025
