Dumb sun visor install Q

Maybe I’m just not strong enough. Go easy on me, I’m a girl. I don’t know. I had to order new visor brackets and I’m good to go on getting the visors on thanks to a tip in another thread from Grumpy Old Man about using white lithium grease to lube up the rod and to twist the rod clockwise while pushing it into the visor. Works like a charm.
So. Now I gotta do the second visor and I realize I’m gonna have two visors for the same side of the truck. It looks like I can maybe push the rod down into the base of the bracket (there’s a spring on the backside) and spin it around so it faces the other way, and boom, passenger side visor. BUT... my twigs for arms can only get the rod to wiggle and if that’s not what it’s supposed to do I really don’t wanna screw it up. I’m about to get my teenage son to do this for me and he has no problem using his muscle or breaking something in the process. Am I on the right track?
