Getting around to changing cab mounts...questions
Hey guys, I’m finally getting around to replacing the cab mounts on my 68 C10. Previous owner seems to have replaced the rubber on the rear mounts with wood blocks! So that scares me a bit.
Just a couple questions- should I jack up the sides of the cab with a piece of wood on the bottom of the rocker, the inside part of the rocker utilizing the cab supports (which are slanted and may pose difficult to position under without sliding off), or the other piece of angle support built into the floorboards near where the seat mounts are? Also, do I have to remove the gas tank? Or just if the rear cage nuts break? Is there any concern hitting these bolts with an impact or should I be sneaking up on them with hand tools to break them lose and hopefully not break them? Any tips you guys can provide would be helpful. Thanks.
