Dome Light Wire Routing

Ok, I'm probably over thinking this but I am trying to run a new dome light wire. The old wire is gone so I can't use it to pull the new wire though. Nor do I have any idea how the wire was routed from the factory. I have managed to get a line run from the dorm light opening to the driver side cab corner. If I go down I can run it in the floor/inner rocker channel. But then where would you run the wire from there once you get to the A-pillar?

I have been trying to fish the wire in the roof above the drive side door opening but haven't been able to get it through. Which way should I be trying to run the wires?
