Exceeded GVW?

A while back my 1/2 ton truck just started pulling to the left when braking.

Four wheel manual drums.

Long story short, my flexible front brake hose was shot, but even worse, the front brake shoes were all cracked with actual chunks missing!

Today I rotated the tires and I need a front end alignment...oh great.

Checked the rear brake shoes while I was at it and it was the same story.

Plenty of remaining pad but cracked with some chunks missing.

The rear passenger shoes weren't quite as bad, probably because a leaking axle seal helped keep the friction down.

Heaviest cargo I ever hauled was a couple quadrunners, so I was at least near maximum weight going down some pretty steep hills around here for a few years.

Any shoe brand recommendation, or is O'Riley's best quality alright?

I don't haul those toys anymore, but they sure were fun!
