Question Carb Help!

[FONT=Comic Sans MS][SIZE=4][COLOR=Red]
I have just rebuilt my old single bbl Model B Rochester for a 63' Chevy p/u.

Problem is when you try to accelerate. You get hestitation and the a back fire out of the throat of the carb. Truck has been recently timed and new points and condensor put in. What could be the problem now. I do think that the throttle body on the carb is shot. Could this attribute to the popping?
