What are these screws in the inner fender/splash shield for?
I have four screws in my drive side fender/splash shield at the top near the emission sticker. There are two vacant holes a little further down and toward the vacant auxiliary battery tray. It looks like something was mounted here and removed. Was there a factory option, dealer option or just something a previous owner did to mount something?
I'm starting prepping to repaint the inner fenders due to rust caused by a failed master cylinder. I stopped sanding because the California emission sticker on the fender is currently not reproduced and don't know what the screws in the fender are for. I can probably make new CA emissions labels and I'd like to fill the holes but won't if they should be there. Not sure if this info helps but it's a 72 Blazer CST 350ci/350 auto 4WD with AC, auxiliary battery, hand throttle from California with a CA emissions sticker on the fender. I was told by the previous owner the Blazer had a winch that he removed. Maybe there were winch controls mounted here? Attached are photos and the SPID. Any ideas of what happened here?
