70 Chevy C-20 rear suspension
As my username implies, I am legally blind. Im currently working on my first restoration. According to the Vin number, my truck is a three-quarter ton see-20 pick up. Having said that, it has a swing arm/coil spring rear suspension. Everyone I have spoken to has said that a three-quarter ton has leafspring rear suspension. In any event, because I want to switch to disc brakes, I have to change out the Full-floating rear axle assembly. Probably to a Ford 9 inch. While Im at it, I want to lower the truck by 2 1/2 inches. There is a slightly curved steel bar that attaches at the rear of the frame that acts as a suspension travel stop. It looks like a section of leafspring. Is there a way to adjust/Alter this suspension travel stop so when the suspension is lowered I have adequate suspension travel? Any words of advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, DNBG
