I just traded my '70 GMC beater
to my Dad for my Grandpa's '68 el Camino
He had a guy rebuild the 327 a few years ago, and I think he mixed up the pulleys. It has power steering and a/c, so 2 groove water pump and 3 groove crank pulleys. Problem is, the water pump pulley sticks out about 1/4" too far, causing misalignment with the crank pulley and a rub with the ps belt. My first thought was maybe the guy put a corvette water pump on it, but it has the correct short pump. I found a part description in a chevelle catalog for the water pump pulley, and I think I have the right one. (6 1/4 dia. 2 11/16 rear space) So, I guess it is the balancer or crank pulley? The balancer is about 1 1/8
" thick. Any ideas? Does anyone make spacers? I tried washers, but pulley wasn't centered. Anybody got the pulley I need?
