Oil Pressure Sender/Switch
Hey everyone,
Engine is a gen 3 5.3 (L59) out of a 2006 GMC Yukon. PCM is out of a base model 2006 2500HD truck. Trying to get oil pressure via OBDII. I am using the correct PID with the correct equation, but the PID is only returning 1 and 0. I am 100% confident that the Yukon I took the engine out had an oil pressure gauge... but the PCM was mailed to me, so I don't know if the truck it came out of had one. The PID returns a hex value that equals 1 while the engine is running, which I assume means I have enough oil pressure so as not to trigger a code. So my question is more of a confirmation; the oil pressure sensor/sender/switch on my engine should return a range, but I am pretty sure I read somewhere that if your vehicle didnt have an oil pressure gauge, in the tune, it was disabled or set to "Switch only?" Unfortunately I don't have HPTuners yet to pull the tune. I did verify I have a 3 wire plug going to the PCM (PSI Harness.) See the screenshot for where I think I'll need to enable it. The pink/red highlighted field. This is just a sample tune I downloaded from a base model 05 Tahoe. Thanks Eric Last edited by skyphix; 12-08-2020 at 12:10 PM. |
