Emergency Brake Cable Question

As many of you know I have been looking for rear e-brake cables for quite some time. I finally found some, but the overall length of the cable is two inches longer than my original. The conduit length is the same. Are the two extra inches going to be a problem? Is there a way to make up for these two extra inches or should I have someone crimp another end-deally-thing two inches from the end of the cable? You guys and gals are the best ......thanks....John
