Tilt column shift lever

I have an original tilt column out of a 67-72 truck.
My description may be inaccurate as I am unsure of the actual build date of the column.
I have three questions;

What years did GM start offer a tilt column in the 67-72 series trucks?
I have serious doubts it was available all five years.

Is there an easy way to tell what year column I have?

I need to purchase a automatic shift lever for it as the original was missing.
I want to be sure to get the correct part.(s).
Are the non-tilt transmission shift handles the same as the tilt column handles?
My best guess by looking at the online catalogs is they interchange.
But have little to no faith in the interchanged published by most companies.
