Went "Up North" for the 4th of July weekend...BBQ'd, raced go carts, played mini golf, watched fireworks, and went 4-wheeling.
While on vacation, I found an old junkyard that has since been closed and is now the "back yard" of the new owners house. He purchased the house, land, and cars back in 1957, and has been adding cars to his "collection" ever since...he said there was over 300 vehicles in there...and I believe him! Some of the notables were (2) Pontiac Catilinas...both with the tri-power engines and air cleaners, a 2-door 59 Impala (complete), a 73 Charger, 67 Camaro, a couple 67-68 Mustang FB's, tons of 67-72 trucks as well as 73-87 PU trucks...one of which still has its original buckets, console, and brackets (I am going back next year to get them). All of these cars are complete and have not been parted out. He also stated every one is for sale, but his prices were somewhat higher than I expected. I would have gotten pictures, but it was raining and I didn't feel like damaging my camera..I was SOAKED by the time he was done giving me the tour. I also wrenched a little on my truck. Pretty much have the interior wired except for the doors and gauges, should have that pretty much done by this weekend. I also got the pedals and components installed, as well as the column...I also installed the ****ty dash and have it fitted pretty well, at least the best it ever will be. Need to buy a new GM one when money allows.
