back up light housing and socket

so one back up light is bad- think it's the connector etc. I was 'smart' Ughh) enough to take the housing out and cut the wire. Now I'm not sure about the connector- it's a brass housing with a 'pin' stuck to the end of the wire that the bulb seems to push in. Must have been a spring- gone.... is there a diagram of the 52 year old junk I cut out- what I need in so far as what goes into the middle of that brass housing so that I may attach the green (back up) wire to it?
