Question '90 Burb slop in steering-any ideas?

Hi,

I have a 1990 Suburban 3/4 ton with a two inch lift, new shocks, 15 x 8 wheels, 33" tires. Several shops have been consulted and all report alignment is within spec and all linkages are aok..."they're just like that" is typical of the shrugging responses I get.

I have driven other Burbs and while they are not sports cars, they shouldn't have a 1/3 turn of the steering wheel in slop.

Any ideas: when all looks ok, what might it be?

thanks

John
