the 72 K10 with no name (yet) thread

Been out of the truck game a little while but it feels good to be back. Bought this Blue 72 K10 that has traveled quite a long way from California. I've had a couple of c10s but I think me and my little boy (4 months old as I type this) will enjoy these mountain roads of North Ga in a k10. There isn't a straight panel on this truck as it has definitely been used (I was told on a ranch) but as far as rust it's actually a really solid truck. The plan is to get it running and driving well, fix up the interior, maybe some 15x8 steel wheels and caps, and drive the snot out of it.

Unfortunately, we haven't started our relationship out on the right foot as the truck needs more work than I was planning on ... I was sold the truck with a "fresh 350" that had junk in the carb. I was told if I would clean out the carb that I would have a "good running truck" .... Unfortunately, it's 2021 and the list of people you can trust is getting shorter every day.. Got home and pulled the tank, cleaned it out, replaced sending unit, and added a new Holley Carb to start the truck and hear a terrible exhaust leak.. No biggie.. fixed the exhaust leak and heard a terrible knocking from the engine... Not what I was hoping for.

I bought the truck without hearing it run from someone who I thought I could trust. I was wrong.

And it gets better.. Pulled the engine last Saturday to take to my builder to see if it was worth rebuilding or if a replacement would be my best option only to find out that my "fresh 350" was a 305 that had been bored .40 over!! The only thing fresh about the engine was the spray paint all over everything... So needless to say, a replacement is the route I'll be taking..

Don't buy a truck without hearing it run... You live and you learn.. I'm not mad that he did this to me, I'm mad at myself for falling for it. But I'm not going to let that stop me from enjoying this truck. So I ordered a brand new crate 290hp 350 from GM. Should be here in 2-3 days and I'll keep you all posted on the progress.

So far I pulled the rubber out of the floor and coated it with some paint just to clean it up. I do have a new rubber mat to go back in the floor with padding and sill plates.. Will also be changing the steering wheel soon..

Also need a name for this truck... Yall help me !
