Difficulty Inserting & Removing Key

Back home in Texas I felt like it was more difficult than it should be to insert the key into the ignition of my truck. Well, now that I’m in Clolorado, and it’s much colder, it’s quite a bit worse and is also noticeable when removing the key. I’m sure the temperature is making it worse and I assume the solution involves lubrication but I’ve read in other threads that the wrong lubricant can eventually make things worse by attracting dust and dirt.

Here’s a video that shows what I’m experiencing. Even though it may sound like it, it isn’t difficult to turn the ignition in either direction but it is difficult to insert and remove the key.
