Sending Unit Float
Gas gauge not working? If you've determined that your original or aftermarket brass float has sunk all the way to the bottom, here's your solution!
A plastic float from a Jeep. PN 17729.01 fits nicely in the stock sending unit arm and is a smidge shorter than the factory float. All I needed to swap it out on my 63 was a 1/2" wrench and 9/16" wrench for the fuel line, 3/8" wrench for the power wire, and phillips screwdriver for the ground wire. Took about 15 minutes and put back together with a NOS gasket I picked up.
