Re: Columbus..the 1957 IH 4x4..
I wanted all stainless exhaust, so to go with the stainless headers, I ordered everything in 16ga, i got 2-1/2" 409ss tube, along with a assortment of 60deg bends and a couple of 180s,all in 409ss, I'm also using band clamps on the mufflers..also ordered a bunch of isolated exhaust hangers..
the headers came with a bunch of useless (to me) ss tubing..these headers where for a Camaro , so it's part of a Camaro exhaust system..the collectors have resonators on them, so I decided to go ahead and use them as well, the outlet on them is almost 3in so I had to get a couple of 3x2-1/2 adapters , I talked to a guy at the exhaust shop about expanding the 2-1/2in , but he acted like he didnt want to, he said it would split...hes also the guy that wanted $1200 to run the exhaust , not including mufflers.. So this is gonna be a learning experience for me...learning to tig weld ss tube...i did a bunch of practice on the excess tubing that came with the headers...still no expert by any means, but I think itll hold together
