Relocating E brake cable bracket.

I Just installed a set of Hooker Competition long tube headers on my 82. I thought I was replacing my current long tube headers but they were mids. Now I'm dealing with the chain reaction of this. One issue I'm running into is the header flange is too close to the E brake cable bracket that's riveted into the frame. I'm going to have to remove it to run the exhaust. Has anyone else run across this issue and if so can I ask what you did with the bracket? I'm sure it is not the biggest deal but I wanted to see who else has run into this issue.
