Re: Restore 1973 Woodgrain dash bezel

Well, we are back to this project. We have ordered the overlay and waiting for it to arrive. In preparation for the new overlay we removed the old one. It came off surprisingly easy and intact. It was still well stuck down, but working it gently around was successful. We did not need to use any heat for this. Now we are trying to remove all the old glue and trying to prepare the surface for the new overlay. The residual glue is being very stubborn. We have removed about 80% of the old glue with soap and water and "Goo Gone". Of course we don't want to use anything that is harsh and will damage the plastic. We would welcome any ideas you might have to get this completely ready for the overlay install. Any other suggestions on what we can do to insure a good installation?
