What year were the long Spark Plug wires?

I bought new wires for the truck yesterday and 3 were too short. I seem to remember a thread that discussed which year vehicle to get plug wires for so they would be long enough. I thought it was an older corvette, but I'm not sure. I thought someone was using the wire splitters that connected to the block at the back and they said a certain year corvette had the correct length wires. i'm just looking for anything that would be long enogh. 60.00 for wires to get fried on the manifold isn't going to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
