Trans selector switch

My '89 K1500 got side-swapped parked on the street a couple of years ago and I've had it on non-op since then. The left tail light was broken. The damage was not severe visually but a lot of parts were damaged that weren't obvious. I replaced the taillight lenses and circuit boards with the newer design. My darn backup lamps aren't working. They flash a bit when the selector lever is moved to the R pos. That led me to the trans selector switch at the base of the steering column. It's marked 22509632 which may have been superseded with a part no. 22514861. It looks like it might snap on in place somehow since I didn't see any mounting screws. Has anyone replaced that part? I don't want to break it trying to remove the darn thing.
