J76 Park Brake Prop Shaft

Hi everyone, I thought I would post over here since despite the fact that my truck is a 1968 (build thread at bottom), it has an option that is more commonly found on 1966 and earlier trucks.

I've been trying to figure out for a few years, now, why and how my truck would have what appears to be a 1966 transmission with this unusual option - you can read about it here if you are interested - but with not too much information available, I have simply decided in the interim to accept it and try to put it together so it is functional.

I found the parts I was missing on this forum - the springs and shoes and whatnot - but I suspect that the hand lever I am using is incorrect. I think based upon my reading that it is probably off a C60 or COE or something: it is too long and it hits the dash.

Pictures of this set up in 1965-66-ish trucks show a much shorter lever. I thought maybe this was just an optical illusion or a difference in the height of the trans hump in these trucks or the distance between it and the bottom of the dash. But now I am pretty sure.

Looking for opinions on this, and maybe some pics and measurements, if anyone has them, of the handbrake lever in a light-duty truck with this option. Thanks in advance.
