2GV Success !

The little 307 in my 71 C/2 has never run properly since I got it . Since it’s only used during the warm months I just put up with the hard starting and crappy drivability. I sent the 2 GV off to a reputable shop in Philly. $225.00 + shipping both ways resulted in a beautiful looking specimen. Dropped it on and the trunk ran great for a while. Seemed like the more I drove the truck the worse it ran. I called the shop and was told it was probably plugged with trash from the tank. I pulled the fuel filter but found no signs of anything. Decided to take the carb apart to inspect the float and needle and seat. All new parts, brass float looking perfect. Yesterday I reinstalled it along with a fuel pressure regulator set to 3.5 lbs. did not touch anything else. Engine now starts great and runs better than ever. Just to confirm it was getting to much pressure I tested the pump, 9lbs…
