OT Painting steel wheels question.
Okay this isn't really a 'painting' question.. so that's why I'm posting it here instead of in "Paint & Body"
I have four steel VW wheels that I am going to repaint for my bug. They need paint all over, with some special attention to the bead and lip area. The prep work I have done, and the rattle-can paint I'm sure will be fine. What I want to know is... when do I have the tires mounted? Should I completely paint the wheels and hope the tire shop doesn't scrape the paint off while mounting the tires? OR Should I have the tires mounted (but not aired up or balanced) onto the bare wheels... then paint the wheels? Thanks for any help you can give PS: Mike (fine69) I know you said just leave the inside... but after I wire wheeled and sand blasted them... I want to do a good job with them.
