SUM-760197 four wheel drum brake power conversion

Does anyone have any experience with the Summit SUM-760197 power brake conversion kit? I ordered one on Wed and it arrived today and I thought it came with a new proportioning valve but it did not. I called them and they said I needed the SUM-760186 valve so I placed another order. Tonight I found some install pics online and it looks like some guys are using the stock valve that came on the truck. So my three questions are:

1. Can I use the factory valve and just rebend the lines? Any pros/cons of doing that?

2. Any install tips or tricks? It looks pretty straightforward.

3. Has anyone installed this on an engine with a Rochester 2GV carb? Anything to look out for on the vacuum port or line?
