1969 Turquoise interior parts FYI
If you have a 1969 truck with either 623, 624, 625 or 626 interior trim codes and are having a hard time getting turquoise plastic parts or getting the faded ones you have to match, I may have a solution.
If your plastic parts (horn cover or defrost vents) are sunbaked, try some liquid, clothing dye. I have tried it on my original sun baked stuff and on light green sun baked and parchment pieces. It works really well on sunbaked stuff that has been cleaned with 75/25 isopropyl alcohol. Prep your plastic first, let dry then just get a small brush (acid brush) and paint on light coats (drying in between) until you get the color you want. 1st picture is the after picture 2nd is the faded green one before I dyed it. I bought the dye on Amazon but other dyes may work as well. https://www.amazon.com/Jacquard-Prod...rp_0_23_i&th=1 Hope this helps someone and if you have any better solutions or successful tips, please share |
