AAW 67-68 Classic Update warning lights didn't work properly

Hi,

New here. I have my father-in-laws '67 C20 I've been fixing up. I put in a new American Auto Wire Classic Update wire harness for the warning lights only dash. I noticed that the warning lights weren't working properly and finally dove into why. They wouldn't light up when starting the truck.

I proved the water temp and oil pressure sensors worked by grounding them out and fixing connections.

Tracing the problem I noticed that the ground wires through the ignition switch were missing. They didn't seem to be part of the wire harness at all which seemed awfully strange. Possibly a mistake?

I was a pack rat and kept the old harness wiring. I pulled the ignition switch wiring and spliced it onto the end of the gauge harness wire the into the ignition switch and the gauge harness. I'll post a couple of photos below.

Works like a champ. Hopefully this is helpful.

I'm curious if anyone else found the classic update harness without the ignition switch ground wires.

Cheers,
Rich
