Cleaning Valve Covers with Evapo-Rust
I am helping my Nephew get his 83 Chevy truck back in shape.
He inherited it for his Great Grandpa (Indirectly) His Grandpa was using it as a farm truck and Grandma (The Inheritor of the truck) decided he needed that truck instead of selling it to someone outside the family. I bought a Valve cover on the board here that has the (4X4) fill tube. It was in Excellent condition. So, we can't put one painted valve cover on and leave the other Ugly. The passengers side valve cover was rusty. Sandblasting is not something I will do to a engine part like this. So, I turn to my favorite easy way to take care of this. Evapo- Rust Yes, there are other ways that are cheaper. I have tinkered with other methods. This is my favorite and is reusable if you contain it tactically. Here is before and After pictures.
