Convertible trucks

Since I have killed my truck I have been driving my dad's roadster. So my son wants me to drive places in it.

The only thing he doesn't like is that it is not very safe, and has no seat belts.

I was married. To a Latina. So it doesn't matter to me.

I am not sure how or if he even explained it in english, but he saw a slammed 2wd Blazer somewhere. Now he wants one to drive around without the top off.

Well I can not afford one. Otherwise I would have one myself.

I have seen people cut the tops of trucks, and make them into roadsters. Some years look right especially when shortened and modified correctly. Some look half baked.

This one needs the bed welded to the truck, and shortened up a bit.

This one looks well though out. Although I would do a couple of things different to suit my taste, and keep it more early styled.

If my son who is 14 magically stays with the idea he wants one bad enough. I can build a rusty cab C10 to Blazer wanna be for less then I can get a major project Blazer for easily. Plus for california I can keep it pre-smog. Then I can make a bikini top like a Jeep, and upgrade the heater to keep him warm when cooler out.

Would this in your opinion be a project that be worth close to the money I put in it. Or I will own it till I die type of vehicle. I am figuring a budget of $5000 to 7500.

When it rains or could rain he could use my truck or Nova. So it being a fair weathered car is not a big issue. We have plenty of fair weather. Plus his high school is 1/4 mile away.
