Question for exhaust experts
A year and a half ago I built an exhaust system for my Blazer. I'm running a 5.7 L31 Vortec with an HT383 cam and about 9.5:1 compression.
The exhaust is 2.5 rams horns into 2.5 stainless tubing, with an H pipe behind the transfer case and Magnaflow 6 x 14 inch round mufflers right behind that. The exhaust exits behind the rear wheels at about a 10 degree angle and the ends are cut at 10 degrees to match the body line. I really like the sound, but there appears to be a bit of a "slap" sound as the exhaust exits. I'm considering fabricating 3.5 inch stainless tips. They would be about 12" long. What effect would that have on the exhaust note?
