Starter wire Help!

Hi

I have a 1972 C10 with a 402 BBC

My ignition was having issues where sometimes I'd turn the key and the engine would not crank. The radio lights would come on but no Crank. I suspected a failing Starter Solenoid so I ordered a new one. When I went to remove the starter to change the solenoid, the wire running to it from the ignition was frayed and came of in my hand due to a poor butt joint connection. I suspect that was the issue. I removed starter tested both the solenoid and the starter and everything works as it is supposed to so problem solved most likely.

When splicing in a new wire near the firewall the wire loom that comes from the ignition switch has 2 additional wires that are capped off a red one and a yellow one. can anyone tell me what those are for.

tranny was switched from TH350 to Muncie sm465 4 on floor.

Also distributor was switched to HEI. I have no clue what they are for.
