Re: HG's Dream Car Build - Shelby Cobra Kit

So it's been over a year since I did any body work on the cobra. Sue me. Plenty of excuses, distractions, responsibilities, etc. But yesterday I installed the new battery (original one failed, replaced under warranty) and started it up. No exhaust pipes and it's really not much louder than when the side pipes are on. It's stirring something inside me. Could it possibly be my motivation? I drove it up and down the driveway (it's a 1/4 mile long) several times, just up to 30 mph. Can't take it anywhere because there's no lights, no windshield, no plates on it. I ended up spending the day on it.

I cleaned up the garage stall where it's been dripping tranny fluid and I'm wondering how much is left in it. Blowing out the leaves and dust that collected under it. It's a fantastic day for sanding in the driveway. I had previously sanded most of the main seams that were mudded up but there was some left. Plus all the areas where the seams ran through door jambs, the truck opening, etc. that hadn't been touched. Then blew dust out of it again.

Then I drove it up and down the driveway again several times to let the wind get more dust out. Hopefully removing more than I was adding from the driveway.

Then it got a wipe down and I started slashering more filler on it. There were a few low spots but this is going to be closer to the final shape on the seams. I hope. After sanding this layer I'll just be using a basic finish filler and high build primer.
