The next day, after spraying the bed, I was able to move the winch from the gantry and bolt it down to the floor so I could drag the Devil back into the garage again and drop the bed onto the frame for the last time. Was a quick and painless one-man operation with the remote on the winch.
After that, I worked on the bottom half of the hood, stripping off paint around the edges, and then treated the bottom with Ospho. Ospho converts rust to black iron phosphate, so it is ready to paint. In this case, we will use bed liner if there is enough left over from doing the bed, or at least spray with 3M undercoating.
