67 and 77 4x4 spring mounts
I've bought this 67 k10 shortbed that is mounted on a 77 4x4 chassis.
This does not work well because of the kick up in the frame causes issues. I've got a clean 71 c20 frame that I am going to shorten and convert the front to leaf springs. I bought a 77 4x4 Blazer, mainly for the axles. I am thinking about using the entire front suspension from the Blazer. Springs, sway bar, power steering, tie rods etc. I see no reason why I can't use the spring mounts off the 77 and mount them to the 71 frame. Or should I get the correct mounts for the 71? Other than the issue with the parking brake cable dimple in the frame, what could go wrong here? Any suggestions? |
