Megasquirt???
One of my nephews is an accomplished machinist, as well as proficient with a computer. He installed an '89 IROC 350/700R4 in an '87 S-10 Maxi-Cab. I thought that was pretty good, in that it is running all of the computer stuff that it came with, down to the sensors, wiring and all. On top of that, the truck scoots pretty good, too.
He has also stuffed an Olds 455 (actually 462) into his '79 Trans Am. It had a Q-Jet, but he found the Mega Squirt stuff on line and has now modified an Edelbrock intake, using 30-lb Fomoco injectors and has a port fuel injection system on the engine. With a few more assorted parts, and some he crafted, it's an amazing thing to see. He took the base plate from a Q-Jet, and milled a throttle valve for air, at home. I gotta get some pix. Has anyone else had any experience with the Mega Squirt system?
