rear splash guards

I was bolting in my old splash guards today and came across a problem. These are the same splash guards that I removed from the truck and (I hope you can see in the picture) am having some problems aligning them up to the rear quarter of the bed. The bed is about 3/4" higher than the splashguard. I think the body shop tried to "straighten" the rear quarter lip. I've got the same problem on each side of the truck.

I guess I'm trying to ask, how would you guys fix this? I dont want to bend my quarters, and I really want to bolt these guys in all the way...
