New sheet metal

Greetings! This is my first post to this forum. I've read some great stuff here!

I have a 1987 GMC Sierra Classic 1/2 4x4 in the body shop at this very moment. I've had her since new and finally gathered enough parts to attempt a restoration. After disassebly, we discovered that the fenders were starting to go bad from the inside (life in the rust belt!). I've tried to source OEM sheet metal, but the fenders have been discontinued (a word very commonly heard at the parts counter when you own old iron!).

Has anyone had any experience with aftermarket sheet metal? Any recommendations?

Many thanks in advance!
