I have kind of looked through the old posts on shift kits and such and I think that I have come to the conclusion that the Trans Go is the way to go. I was just curious as to they have a shift kit and a reprogramming kit. (or something like that)
I believe that the shift kit can be done with the transmission in the vehicle. Can the other kit be installed this way also? I really don't feel like pulling the transmission again. Especially with the transfer case attached to it. I am looking for a kit that will change my 2-3 shift. My transmission shifts too early in 2-3 right now and then I would like it to change the lockup on the converter if possible. Right now the 1-2 is nice. The shift point is right. 2-3 shifts before the engine revs enough causing it to bog down. (Approximately 35MPH for the 2-3 shift.) Just after that shift you can feel the converter lock up which bogs it down even more. Especially when towing. When towing the shift points are raised slightly, but it still shifts too early. At WOT 1-2 is nice. 2-3 shifts before it can rev well. I don't have a tach, but I would guess that the RPM's are maybe at around 4000 to 4500 when it shifts from 2-3 at WOT. Anything other then WOT, it shifts sooner. The shift 1-2 is nice and firm. 2-3 isn't as firm though. I don't mind firm shifts, I just don't want harsh shifts. I think that I have pretty much made up my mind with Trans Go, just curious as to what I should get to fit my needs/wants.
