And On Saturday She Rose From The Dead!

After a final adjustment on the valves. Replaced the plugs. Dropped in the distributor. Connect the wires. Alittle gas in the carb. And with a turn of the key, be damned if it didn't start right up. It's alive. After being down and tore apart for 11 years, she was ressurected from the dead. First signs of life from the ole girl came at about 1:00-1:30 P.M. Came to life with a roar from her new Flowmaster mufflers. After the break in period, she settled down and let me fine tune and adjust as needed. Sure is great to hear her voice after all this time. Now I'll have to finish the bed and get her some new tires. Renews my interest in "GETTIN HER DONE"! Can't wait to get back at it tomorrow and get some more done. Drivin her to Mike's(Fine69) place next year, is closer to reality. Time to wash up and eat. Just had to tell someone!

Wish I could say the same. Last step was filling it with antifreeze before turning the key. Filled it up and had antifreeze running out of one of the waterpump gaskets and the thermostat housing. The guy that put the engine together used silicone on them but theyr'e still leaking. It had just gotten dark and I was tired so it'l have to wait until tomorrow.

let me get this straight. it started right up with out any problems or leaks! either you are very good & did everything just right or you are God.
this reminds me of a quote from the old TV show "The A Team"
"I love it when a plan comes together"
whatever you do, dont get excited & accidently miss something

Talking

Big Blue 72, I'm a long way from being done, but ya know, they're right? There is a light at the end of the tunnel.

68C15, yea, there was one leak. Forgot to tighten the fuel line. But other than that, no problem.

Now I can get serious about the interior.
