I have a question for everyone. I have a 68 truck but am putting a 72 cab on. The interior rear view mirror... which one should I put in. Should I put the one from the old cab or buy one that attaches to the window? I would have to drill the holes for the 68 mirror. Thanks

Dude, I'd go with the window mount - I've filled the cab holes on mine just so can do the window mount - no real preference, just shaving everything and figured I'd do the mirror holes too.

How easy are they to put on? Have you had any problems with it falling off? Thanks

I like the window mount but it really depends on how original you want your truck to look.... plus I would think that drilling holes in the top like that couldnt be to good since that is a high rust area anyway.......just my 2 cents & then some

they are very easy to put on, make sure to buy the proper glue kit for it though and just follow the instructions.

I guess I'm in the minority here, i prefer the older style.
I like chrome, I like shiney stuff.
The glue on ones look way too....blaaaah.
I have had problems keeping them on when i was in Tx, but not up here in the midweast though.
Drilling the holes is real easy, just wrap tape on the drill bit about 1/4 inch from the tip to keep from drilling in too far, mark your holes, and drill away.
Just my opinion though.

I'm in th opisite boat. I have a 68 cab and opted for the windshield mount instead. Cause these are just WAY TOO COOL! And you know the saying EVERYTHING IS BETTER WITH FLAMES!! I will be stocking these as soon as Trenz is not sooooo backlogged.

I got fed up with the glass mount mirror falling off every time somebody breathed wrong so recently replaced it with the older style. I think the older one looks better, but I'm not real hung up on rear view mirror styling. I'm more interested in functionality, and so could really use some map lights... which, of course, the old mirrors don't have. I'm pondering how to swap out the old head with something modern that has map lights in it. Anybody done this???

A trick to prevent going through the roof with a drill is to slide a piece of rubber hose over the drill bit to prevent it from going through all the way.

The glue kits work great. If done properly. You know there is nothing wrong with it when over 85% of the vehichles on the road are windshield mounted. I guess some people have just had bad luck. Or the next time you replace the front widshield in your truck, just order the 72 glass. It is already on there for ya.

On the windshield mount: sand and clean the location where the mount is to be glued. Then glue the mount on the windshield and tape it in place. Wait at least as long as the instructions say before installing the rest of the mirror. Should hold forever........
