Added this to 73-87.com

I originally got this info from Mike (Swervin) a few years ago, finally got around to putting it on the site (it is also on the FAQ section here as well). These are pretty neat packets of information..and they are free.

Check it out

Glad you like the Resto Packs. I put many of those together when I worked at the Chevrolet Custom Assistance Center in Troy, MI years ago. We used to have Resto Packs for all years of Chevrolet cars and trucks. Every new model year we would take all of the order guide information, brochures, etc and create a new Resto Pack. You could basically get a Resto Pack for a brand new vehicle.

All of the GM customer assistance centers and call centers were merged in 1998 and contracted out to a company called Sitel. Sitel then they took the merged call centers and split them into 3 locations around the country (Tampa, Portland, and Austin) and downgraded their employee requirement to someone that just has a pulse.

I am very surprised Sitel is still handing out the Resto Packs or have anybody there smart enough to build one. After all, when you call them at 800-222-1020 (Chev CAC) and ask them a question about an older vehicle they will tell you to contact your local dealer for assistance. I doubt Sitel will be creating new Resto Packs for current vehicles…..they are probably only photo coping the resto packs that the good guys put together years ago and have not build a 1999 or new resto pack.

I received mine a couple of weeks ago and it was a photocopy plus it was put together with the pages backwards lol. Took me awhile to figure that out. And 79gmc the chevy version *should* work for you. Mine was for chevy but everything in it applied to gmc and chevy trucks. They had pics and options for both.
