Body Panel Alignment Problem

Hellow Guys,

Have any of you been face with a rear panel that did not align properly with the door because of body mount? I am looking a blazer that has about an 1/8 of an inch gap between the top weather strip and the window (when it is let all the way up). I am wondering could it be a worn out body mount.

I know it could be several other things, but what are the chances of the body mount being one of them. I will welcome all other possibilities.

On a Blazer, the body mounts have a LOT to do with alignment. I can tell you first hand, as I am sure others can to. Not sure in this case.

Mine had a problem where the regulator was binding and not allowing the window to reach the weather stripping properly. The window SHOULD go all of the way to the top of the door frame. If there is a gap there, your regulator is not allowing the window to go all of the way up. I just loosened some things, adjusted some things, and then the window made it's way to the top of the track properly.

According to the factory assembly manual, the body bushings have as much to do with alignment as the actual bolt up. So, go with a new bushing kit and that should fix it for you. If not you can shim as necessary to offset the spacing. Jeff.
