My good friend was at a swap meet where he and his son saw this truck parked in the "back 40" with some printed flyers attached under the windshield wiper. He described it to me, then faxed me the sheet of info. About a week later I finally got hold of the owner assuming it would be sold. He still had it, emailed me some pics. The deal sounded too good to be true. Well, we two went to check it out. Sure it needed help, but mechanically it was in good shape ----new engine, new tranny. My talents are more in the cosmetic end anyway...detailing, upholstery, etc. SO, I got a 72 with a 350, comp cam, dual exhaust, auto trans, Holley 650 carb, roller tipped rockers tested at 325 hp. All under $3K

Searched all over Winnipeg, the Interlake and Southern Manitoba. I would only accept a 67 C10 Fleetside, Condition didn't really matter as long as it was restorable and a Chevy, No disrespect to any GMC Guys, but I think the Bowtie emblem is better than just the letters GMC. Found Lots of GMC's, 68 to 72 Chevy's but I only know of one other 67 C10, and the guy isn't interested in selling it. Pisses me off because it has original dark blue paint, but is slowly rotting away. If you're out there please fix up your truck, its a great one! Anyways I had almost given up hope of finding my 67 C10 when was surfing the BuySell.com and discovered a 67 C10 Fleetside in Abbottsford, BC. Called the guy up and he listed off a whole $hit load off parts that came with the truck. Couldn't pass it up bargained down to $1800 from $2500 for the truck and parts. Body is very straight, parts included are: 305 engine, 2 turbo 350's, drive shaft, 3 six lug axles, 4 rear suspension assemblies, inner fenders L&R, 2 doors L&R, Brand New Chrome Bumper, exhaust manifolds L&R, auto transmission cross-member, original seats, L&R upper and lower control arms, 6 Steering Columns, 5 Auto 1 manual, dash pad, fuse box, wiring harness, gas and brake pedals, seatbelts, heater controls, lots more stuff!!!!
I think it was a steal even though it is costing me $700 to ship it to Winnipeg, Manitoba. JHickson6 |

In my driveway. Mine also came to me. Guess it knew what a great person I was and followed me home . Anyway, the truck was my mothers, friends daughters truck and she needed a spot to keep it for a few weeks. I cam home and there was a neat green truck in the driveway. I looked at it and thought it was a nice looking POS the first day. Well a few weeks later I got a call at work, dad said the girl was selling the truck.... he got her down to $950cdn . I bought it over the phone with out even driving it (thanks dad). Turns out I was pleasantly suprised to find out that it was actually an extremely mechanically solid truck and was offered $4500cdn for the truck a few weeks after buying it by someone who knew what shape it was in. The thought of selling it never came into my mind even for that profit. It looked good for about 2 years before you could see rust coming up so I started to tear it apart. One of these days itll be on the road again where it belongs.

My wife's uncle (Who is younger than I am) had the green blazer in his driveway. I was eyeballing that blazer even before we were married. One day while at the family Sunday dinner, I told him that if he ever wanted to sell the blazer I would be interested. A few weeks later, right after I sold the wife's old Geo prizm, I mentioned the blazer to him again and he decided to sell it. I thought I got a deal at $2500. It is a 72 Blazer CST. P.S, P.B. 350, TH350, NP205, and Factory Air (No Compessor). I drove it home and the wife thought it would be hers. You know an original SUV. After one ride, she changed her mind. I think it may have been the gas fumes or the mud-grip tires. Last year I finally got to work on it. Turned out there was more body-rot than I thought, but I think it was still worth it. Last fall he told me that he had a passenger door for it in the shed that he forgot about ( A perfect original CST door with all the hardware). I've replaced the quarters, and the rockers and welded up the floor pan and it still needs a drivers door, fenders, inner fenders, and a tailgate, but I still think it was a pretty good deal. I've used it as a daily driver for about a year now, and no problems. Next month I'll have my driver finished and the blazer will come apart. I Still think I got a deal and can't wait till the sunny day when we all go up to the mountains camping by way of the topless, original, and the BEST SUV ever made.

Well I had a 72 chevy, rusty, i needed new door skins, and guts, panels, handles, etc. and i found a 71 gmc with PERFECT doors, with a straight six, no box, the guy said it didnt run. i went to go pick it up put a battery in and it fired right up, gave him 200 bucks, and drove home. the next week my cousin had a head on colision with my 72, the only good thing left was motor, tranny, and box, so i put the box on the gmc, drove it for a while and the 6 died. pulled it in the shop, its now undergoing a 350/350, rebuilt tranny (for racing), and a fresh rebuild of the motor, bored 30 over, 202 heads, etc.. and i got a 67 chevy front end for it, nice ride, very fast and cheap too.

My truck had been belonged to two of my neighbors, one had it for 6 years and the other had it for 2 before he sold it to me in March 2000. I bugged everytime I saw him and one day he told me to see his wife and get the keys to see if I wanted to buy it, I told him it was not if, but how much. Put the money in his hand and he signed the title over the next day (just happened to be my birthday, also).
